Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, the "Encyclopedia of the Great Umayyad Mosque in Damascus" project, prepared by researcher Dr. Ahmed Ibesh, will be launched at the Syrian National Library. The launch event will include a lecture exploring the historical and architectural dimensions of the Great Umayyad Mosque, accompanied by a documentary exhibition. This ongoing scholarly and documentary project, under the auspices of the Syrian Ministry of Culture, aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the mosque's history, architecture, and art, and its enduring impact on Syrian cultural memory and as a cornerstone of Damascus's historical identity.
